A school uniform size chart and an order size breakdown serve different purposes. The chart defines measurements; the breakdown states how many garments to produce in each size. Buyers should prepare both before confirming a bulk order.
Separate body and garment measurements
Label the chart clearly as body measurements or finished garment measurements. State the unit, such as centimetres. If you send body measurements, discuss the required ease and fit with the supplier. Avoid mixing measurements from different chart types.
Define measurement points
For each garment, show where measurements are taken. A polo brief may include chest width, body length, shoulder width and sleeve length. Skirts and shorts need waist and length details. Jackets should be reviewed over the intended school layers. Use a diagram or a physical reference garment to resolve ambiguity.
Review the intended age and fit range
Give the student age range as context, but do not use age alone to approve fit. Size labels differ between suppliers and markets. Compare the proposed garment measurements with a known reference and review samples with the intended fit in mind.
Agree tolerances and sample approval
Record the agreed measurement tolerances and check method before production. Review the sample for fit, movement and construction. If several sizes require review, agree the sample scope and charges with the supplier. Keep the approved chart version with the sample approval record.
Send quantities by garment and size
List each style and colour separately, with a quantity for every size and a checked total. The current minimum order is 100 pieces per style across 3–4 sizes; confirm your proposed split in the quotation. State whether quantities mean individual pieces or complete sets and list the contents of each set.
